John Deere, Mobile Track Solutions ink master supply agreement for towed scrapers

John Deere and Mobile Track Solutions, LLC are collaborating on a master supply agreement to develop Deere-branded towed scrapers, which will be distributed through the former’s construction and agriculture equipment dealer networks.
The towed scrapers from the Iowa-based Mobile Track Solutions, have more than 27 cubic yards of capacity and will be used with the John Deere 460E-II Articulated Dump Trucks and the 9R Series Scraper Tractors.
“The trend for a single large-capacity scraper pulled by either an articulated dump truck or large tractor continues to grow as an earthmoving solution for many contractors,” said Jason Daly, global director, production systems, technology, marketing, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “Combining the advanced features of the proven John Deere 460E-II ADT or 9R Series Scraper Tractor, along with the quality and durability of the new John Deere scraper, will provide a powerful solution for customers.”
According to the Illinois-based manufacturing giant, the Deere-branded scrapers will be compatible with the company’s technology solutions – including an earthmoving productivity system, which debuted at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March 2020, that will measure volume in the scraper in real time to help maximize trip capacity and prevent spillage. That feature will be launched at a later date, according to a release.
The manufacturer also said the addition of the towed scrapers will help boost efficiency in large-capacity earthmoving applications and increase machine versatility.
The system will be available through an in-cab monitor, as well as offboard in the JDLink dashboard, which allows the operator visibility to
the inside of the scraper, as well as key production data, John Deere said.
Initially, the John Deere scrapers will be distributed through construction and agriculture equipment dealers in the U.S. and Canada, and the company will announce the start of sales at a later date.
