The DL480-7, one of the next-generation models introduced this week by Doosan Infracore North America, LLC, displays its 6.3-cubic-yard bucket capacity

Seven new wheel loaders are debuting from Doosan Infracore North America, LLC, as part of the next-generation -7 Series, which includes upgrades such as increased bucket capacities, redesigned cabs with first-class comfort features and fuel-saving technologies.

The new DL280-7, DL320-7, DL-380-7, DL420-7, DL480-7, DL550-7 and DL580-7 models have standard bucket capacities ranging between 3.7-7.6 cubic yards, and Doosan said the increased bucket sizes provide faster, easier loading in fewer passes.

The -7 Series wheel loaders, which have stronger, longer axles and a strengthened box frame, also come with large center bearings and self-centering, double-tapered roller bearings that have dust seals and vents to prevent grease overfill.

In addition to new exterior designs, Doosan changed the -7 Series models’ cabs by relocating important and frequently used controls for easier, more intuitive use.

The company said the new -7 Series wheel loaders, which feature a full glass door on the left side, have improved visibility from the cab, as the total glass area is 14% larger than prior models.

According to the manufacturer, the new machines have a standard rearview camera that appears on the 8-inch Doosan Smart Touch display, which operators can raise or lower to comfortable heights without tools.

The new wheel loader cabs also come with a redesigned heating and cooling system, more legroom and additional in-cab storage. Electric steering is available for select -7 Series models.

“It’s become increasingly difficult for our customers to hire heavy equipment operators,” Kleingartner said. “Our investments in operator comfort provide an exceptional cab that makes it a pleasant experience for long days in the cab. We’re convinced that cabs today are among the most

comfortable operating stations, which we hope will help our customers retain their operators.”

Doosan said it designed the -7 Series wheel loaders with standard technology features – including DoosanCONNECT telematics, Situation Awareness Technology, the Doosan Smart Guidance System, an improved Load Isolation System, the new Doosan Smart Load weighing system and the Doosan Smart Key – that owners and operators can use to make meaningful improvements to the productivity of their operations.

“While we have made enhancements to our wheel loaders during the past 15 years, this is a significant milestone in the Doosan product,” said Aaron Kleingartner, dealer and product marketing manager. “The new -7 Series wheel loaders represent more than a decade of research and development, as well as incorporating feedback from our customers. The next generation of Doosan wheel loaders easily competes with any machine available today.”

The -7 Series announcement will be followed by the introduction of five additional Doosan models in early 2022, and the company said next year’s machines will have bucket capacities between 2.6-3.3 cubic yards.
