Engcon’s EC226 tiltrotator can handle 3 more tons than the previous model

Engcon, one of the leading global manufacturers of attachments and systems for excavators, announced the new EC226, which is the second-largest tiltrotator for excavators in the 20.9-26.8-ton range, according to the company’s release.

The EC226’s lifting hook is more powerful and is approved for 8 tons – almost double the previous model’s capacity of 5 tons.

”It’s thanks to an upgraded top with more powerful side plates that made the upgrade possible,” said Göran Kron, constructor at the Sweden-based Engcon.

The new model also has a larger diameter that can hold more robust chains and lifting straps.

Engon, which established its North American headquarters in New Haven, Conn., in 2017, also announced a long-term partnership with Volvo CE last month.
