Hexagon’s HxGN Smart Build Insight is a project management platform designed to virtually connect office and field personnel in real time so faster course corrections can be made when necessary.
By getting every team member on the same page, Smart Build Insight aims to ensure execution is aligned with plans so costly mistakes and rework can be reduced or prevented. Because it’s a mobile solution, field workers gain real-time access to required documents so they have the critical information needed to perform onsite. It facilitates communication so effective collaboration can take place and schedules can stay on track.
Designed around model visualization and easy-to-understand reporting, Smart Build Insight supports 3D, 4D and 5D processes to increase visibility for better control of resources throughout the project life cycle. Hexagon said general contractors can gain real-time insight into progress and are able to improve the planning and execution of work at the construction site.
Smart Build Insight is designed to be flexible and can integrate with complementary Hexagon solutions to provide the right amount of visibility on each project. Hexagon said its upcoming solution, HxGN Smart Build Project Controls, will build upon that foundation to offer a True 5D BIM experience.
Features include:
Schedule Work Assignments - Intelligently links the 3D model to project schedules for assigning site activities with all supporting information to field teams and for 4D visualization of planned, in-progress and actual delivery of construction.
Project Controls - Provides suite of project controls capabilities including budget and cost control, progress and productivity management, forecasting, earned value management and more that allow real-time monitoring of budgets and costs.
Field Mobile Enablement - Enables mobile access to all relevant information to support site activities and captures feedback of site progress and issues to the office in real time.
Digital Layout, Scanning and Verification - Permits models to be taken to the field and used in conjunction with Robotic Total Stations or as-built scan data for construction layout and verification.
Reporting - Allows the model to visually represent progress and cost status of the project compared to current budget and schedule and additionally provides a wide range of other graphical and tabular report formats.
