The Home Depot is now offering a ‘Rent Online, Pick-up In Store’ option to customers at the 1,300 locations in the U.S. and Canada where it provides rental services.
Customers can reserve and rent equipment up to 30 days in advance using the online system and it covers Home Depots’ entire rental line, from demolition tools like breakers and concrete saws, landscaping tools, and trailers and vehicles.
Small tools like these can now be ordered online up to 30 days in advance from Home Depot’s rental stores.
“This new online technology saves Pro and DIY customers time and trips to the store because they can conveniently check equipment availability and reserve what they need in advance to get in and out of our rental centers more quickly than ever,” said Richard Porter, vice president of The Home Depot Rental.
“For urgent needs at the job site or in the midst of that weekend project, customers can also check availability at multiple locations and make reservations on their phone or other mobile device.”
The ordering system was piloted in the Atlanta, Charlotte and Houston markets.
In addition, The Home Depot has opened eight new rental centers since January; two in California, three in Texas, and one each in Georgia, Hawaii and Virginia.
