Mecalac expands North American network with five dealers

Global manufacturer Mecalac, which designs, produces and distributes compact construction equipment for urban environments, added five new dealers to its North American network in 2020.
The new dealers are located in the states of California, Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania, as well as the province of Ontario – which will bolster the manufacturer’s presence in the eastern U.S. while branching out into West Coast and Canadian markets.
Peter Bigwood, general manager for Mecalac North America, said the company seeks opportunities to address industry challenges to improve its customers’ productivity, qualities Mecalac looks for in its dealers, as well.
“We aren’t happy with the status quo and believe our dealers shouldn’t be either,” Bigwood said. “We’re building relationships with dealers who believe in our approach, share our values and aren’t afraid of new solutions.”
Central Pennsylvania-based Wood’s CRW Corporation is Mecalac’s new dealer of heavy equipment and has more than 60 years of experience servicing the northeastern U.S. through locations in Vermont, Massachusetts, New York and in Carlisle, Penn.
Mecalac said Hall Equipment Company LLC, based in southern Illinois, will help with sales and service for contractors in the St. Louis area. Hall Equipment specializes in excavation equipment and has more than 20 years of experience in the construction, aggregate and mining industries.
Trekker Group, which originated in Puerto Rico 66 years ago before expanding to Florida in 2010, will offer Mecalac products through its equipment sales rental and service division, Trekker Tractor, at six locations throughout Florida.
Scott Equipment is a full-service dealership based in Fontana, Cali., featuring new and used equipment sales, fully equipped shop/field service department capabilities, an experienced parts department and a wide range of equipment rental machines. The family-owned dealership has been serving the Southern California heavy construction market for nearly 50 years with two locations.
Mecalac’s new Canadian partner is Gear Equipment, with locations in Ontario and soon British Columbia. Distributing brand-new, innovative technology to Canadian contractors, Gear Equipment will offer Mecalac’s complete range of compact and powerful excavators, both tracked and wheeled, as well as loaders and site dumpers.
“As a relatively new player in the North American market, we’re working hard to make a lasting first impression,” Bigwood said.
According to Mecalac, each new dealer will work with the manufacturer to provide its line of crawler skid-excavators — the MCR Series — and the company’s MWR Series of wheeled excavators and AS Series swing loaders.
