Skyjack’s new SJ9664 RT takes workers to seven stories

Skyjack has introduced its SJ9664 RT, a 70-foot working height full-size rough-terrain scissor lift that takes operators up to work at seven stories. 

“Similar to our DC scissor lifts, we looked at what changes were mandated by standards, both ANSI in North America and Stage V in Europe, and dug a bit deeper to see how we could develop a whole new class for our customers,” explained Kristopher Schmidt, product manager at Skyjack. “Bringing a machine to the market with a working height of 70 feet makes work at seven stories possible without jumping to a specialized class.”

At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 last March, Skyjack unveiled its highest-reaching scissor lift to that point, the SJ9263 RT with a working height of 69 feet. A year prior, it unveiled its SJ9253 RT with a working height of 59 feet. It was the first model in Skyjack’s new full-size rough-terrain range.

With its latest introduction, the SJ9664 RT includes Skyjack features including an axle-based four-wheel drive system, SMARTORQUE technology, an expansive workspace, and class-leading capacities.

Skyjack’s SMARTORQUE technology enables the SJ9664 RT to use a smaller Tier 4 Final Kubota engine, while delivering the same on-site performance as higher-powered units.

“With this optimized balance of engine horsepower, torque, and hydraulic performance, we’ve created a cost-effective solution for emission regulations and controls,” Schmidt said. “Other areas we’ve added value to our customers are through the commonality of parts across our other full-size RT scissors, impact-resistant control box, and increased leveling capability with better protected components.”

The SJ9664 RT also includes a reinforced scissor stack to promote increased rigidity, simplified e-lowering, onboard diagnostic display and a self-centering scissor design to support the optional dual-extension decks. The new model is ompatible with Skyjack ACCESSORYZERS, including pipe rack and material handling stand, which are designed to help increase on-site productivity.

Like all Skyjack Next Generation products, the SJ9664 RT is supported by Skyjack’s optional ELEVATE telematics solution. Using this solution, operators can see engine faults and other machine health metrics through the ELEVATE Live QR code system.
