VIDEO: Sennebogen’s new material handler uses ‘Green Hybrid’ energy recovery system

The 835 G Hybrid also is available in an electric version, which, according to Sennebogen, can reduce operating costs by up to 50% over traditional models

A decade after the launch of the E series, Sennebogen has introduced the 835 G Hybrid material handler featuring a 188-kilowatt Stage V diesel engine and the company’s new Green Hybrid energy recovery system.

The diesel engine is augmented by the Green Hybrid energy recovery system “which considerably increases the system’s overall operational performance,” Sennebogen reports. The machine’s working speed and handling performance have increased, while fuel costs are reduced by up to 30%.

The material handler features reworked hydraulics, which Sennebogen says will increase the efficiency of the machine. Other new features include updated and optimized hose guides, diameters, valves and flow cross-sections.

These upgrades “resulted in genuine tuning of the hydraulics through the sensible relief of pressure on the pump system,” according to the company.

The energy recovery technology “functions like a tensioned spring that supports the boom’s working movement.” The company says the machine and its components (a third hydraulic cylinder on the boom and a nitrogen accumulator at the rear) are “virtually maintenance-free.”

The new material handlers debut the new “Maxcab,” which has a sliding door for easy entry and ergonomic joysticks. The cab’s windows have been designed to offer an unobstructed view of surroundings while “the design and kinematics of the cab elevation have been further improved and now elevate the operator in an even more comfortable way,” says Sennebogen.
